Keep the service record
Record the date, model, findings, work completed, and next recommended service. Follow the manufacturer’s separate filter inspection and replacement instructions.
Make routine care useful
Ask for the actual tasks and documented findings, rather than relying on the label “tune-up.” Maintenance is not a guarantee against future failures.
Take this question into the conversation
“What did you find, what will the proposed work solve, and how will we know it worked?”
